Lawsuit filed against former Missouri Veterans Commission accountant after embezzlement.
The Missouri attorney general's office filed a lawsuit Monday against Stacy Griffin-Lowery. Griffin-Lowery pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft in 2008 and repaid $17,665 to the Veterans Commission. Missouri Auditor Susan Montee released an audit earlier this month that said the total amount stolen was $90,192.
Former Veterans Commission accountant Stacy Griffin-Lowery is being sued by Attorney General Chris Koster. Griffin-Lowery is accused of stealing about $90,000 through reimbursements.
