COLUMBIA — Authorities say a man arrested on suspicion of robbing the First Community National Bank in Cuba, Mo. might have been behind five other Missouri bank robberies, according to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
John David Farnell, 58, of Fulton was arrested on April 29 after a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper saw a Dodge Grand Caravan that matched the description of the suspected getaway car of a bank robbery that occurred that morning. The trooper pulled the car over and found money believed to have been stolen from First Community National Bank and a loaded handgun inside the car, according to the release.
Farnell and the minivan he was driving matched the description of five previous Missouri bank robberies in:
- Moberly
- Sedalia
- Rolla
- Chillicothe
- El Dorado Springs
Farnell’s arrest is only for the alleged robbery of First Community National Bank in Cuba.
