PrintCOLUMBIA — Traffic enforcement in Boone County will increase between Wednesday and Sunday, and the Boone County Sheriff's Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint, according to a news release from the department.
The checkpoint is scheduled to begin late in the evening and end early the next morning. The department did not say when or where the checkpoint will be.
Increased traffic enforcement is funded through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Division and is part of the "You Drink & Drive. You Lose" campaign.

I remember free America.
These are NOT sobiety checkpoints. They are just illegal spot checks on citizen drivers. They use the alcohol facade to gain popularity among misinformed America. They use corrupt organizations like MADD and DMV exaggerated statistics to justify there needs. I am not condoning DUI's, but this isn't an answer.
An officer of the law would do much better cruising the streets to see inebriated drivers, and ALL the other things he would see to make himself useful. This is easy to check. Look at the logs for policemen driving around, and then look at the ridiculous logs of policemen at checkpoints. It's not about DUI.
