PrintPresident Barack Obama has said that he felt it was wrong for Arizona to pass an immigration law requiring immigrants to carry proof of their immigration status. I feel he was wrong in saying this.
I feel more border states should pass similar laws. If immigrants are legal, they will not be harmed by this law; also, those who transport and hire them will be protected. This law will also help those who are here legally.
Every day Congress fails to pass a fair immigration law that protects our borders. Protecting our borders is just as important to national security as trying to protect our country from terrorism.
Obama should put troops on our borders, as our border patrols are not strong enough to do their jobs. If Mexico doesn't like this, then they should do a better job patrolling their borders. Perhaps too many of their government officers and border guards are paid off by drug dealers.
I feel that some in our own Congress are profiting from illegal immigrants who work for large corporations as cheap labor, which allows these corporations to support them in Congress.
