COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department stopped 354 vehicles at a sobriety checkpoint Saturday at Forum Boulevard near Katy Lane.
The checkpoint, which took place between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., resulted in three arrests for driving while intoxicated.
In addition, there were:
- Three arrests on driving under suspension or revocation
- One arrest on unlawful use of a weapon
- One arrest on possession of marijuana
- Nine seatbelt warnings
- 59 warnings on no insurance
- 7 other nonhazardous moving violations cited
The department conducted the checkpoint with the grant from Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division for participating in the “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” campaign. For more information, go to SaveMOlives.com.
