COLUMBIA – Health care providers at University Hospital are offering free screenings for those who are at risk for strokes, according to a news release from the University of Missouri Health System.
In recognition of Stroke Awareness Month in May, hospital staff members will conduct screenings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the main lobby of University Hospital.
About 800,000 people in the U.S. suffer strokes each year, according to the American Stroke Association.
