What's wrong with this picture?
A SWAT team conducts a dramatic raid to arrest someone suspected of a non-violent crime, kills one family pet, wounds another, gives a child something to remember for years to come and has the event captured on videotape, provoking astonishment and disgust across the country and beyond — disgust aimed at the city of Columbia.
Yet the police chief implies that most people upset by this event are either pro-drugs, animal-rights advocates or anti-police wackos. Sorry, I don't have to be on drugs, crazy, a member of PETA or all of the above to be appalled by this. And for good measure, he throws in a joke about "hating the Internet" — perhaps not a very tasteful joke considering that if the video had not reached the Internet and provoked a public outcry, it is unlikely that the chief would have been admitting any mistakes.
Nice.

also considering that police chief ken burton has a facebook page.i don,t believe anything he has to say! and yeai,m an animal rights advocate.if he does not love animals then i feel very sorry for him.maybe he didn,t have animals or pets when he was a child or growing up.he,ll never know what it is to show compassion or show emotions or know what it is to show empathy towards animals.
i have a chow mix and love her as if she were my child, she is a part of my family.i also love all animals and want to see all animals protected.
