COLUMBIA — The Columbia and Boone County Planning and Zoning commissions want to know what area residents think about the East Area Plan.
The plan is intended to outline ideas on development of land on the east side of Columbia, which is largely undeveloped, according to a news release from the city.
In order to stimulate community discussion and get feedback on proposals, the commissions are holding a third public information meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 25 in the Columbia Benevolent Organization’s meeting hall, located inside the Elk’s Lodge, 4747 Elk Park Drive East.
Area residents are encouraged to give impressions on draft findings and proposals for the area of study, which includes lands generally bounded by I-70, U.S. 63, New Haven Road and Rangeline Road in eastern Boone County, according to the release.
For those interested in reviewing what the plan says, draft copies will be available on the city’s planning website after May 19.
