WASHINGTON — A bipartisan group from Missouri's congressional delegation is speaking out on what the lawmakers say is the need to include Boeing Super Hornet fighter jets in the Navy budget.
Boeing makes the Super Hornet in suburban St. Louis.
The Missouri lawmakers are urging the Pentagon to buy more of the Super Hornets through a multiyear procurement that they say will save taxpayer dollars in the long run.
The group planned a media availability at 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday in Washington.
Those scheduled to take part include Republican Sen. Kit Bond and Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, along with two House members from the St. Louis area — Republican Todd Akin and Democrat Russ Carnahan.

Well isn't that just patriotic! I'm thrilled we can make this war more affordable. Long live plundering and imperial occupation.
