LOUISIANA — Three people escaped unharmed when a building in a northeast Missouri town collapsed without warning around them.
Williard and Natalie Crow and their son-in-law, Garrett Daniel, were inside the Rainbow Flower Shop on Sunday in Louisiana when they heard crumbling sounds. They went outside and found a large crack from the top to the bottom of the two-story building.
The Hannibal Courier-Post reports that police blocked off the street, but told the three they could go back inside the building to back up their computer system. But they soon had to run for their lives as the building collapsed.
Willard Crow says the building is essentially split in half and completely destroyed. He and his wife had met with an insurance adjuster on Friday to discuss brick problems caused by water damage. They had planned to begin repairs this week.
