BUTLER — An experienced skydiver has died while performing a stunt at a charity event in western Missouri's Bates County.
The Kansas City Star reported that the accident happened Saturday near Butler Memorial Airport when the victim's main parachute became entangled with the chutes of three other jumpers.
Officials said three of the jumpers were able to deploy their reserve parachutes, but the victim wasn't.
The name of the man who died wasn't immediately released, but authorities said he had made more than 1,300 successful jumps.
