Autopsy results on drowning victim inconclusive

COLUMBIA — Though the autopsy of the 35-year-old man who drowned in
Stephens Lake on Monday evening is now complete, reasons for his drowning remain unclear.
Police identified the man as Jean Magabokenda, but according
to his wife, his name was Jean Marie Vianey Mugabo-Kenda.

“We’re investigating whether he may have had a seizure,”
said medical examiner Ariel Goldschmidt.
Aside from this possibility, Mugabo-Kenda looked healthy, Goldschmidt said. Follow-up tests will
be conducted before any conclusions are made.
