A television station in Dallas is reporting that Tony Mitchell, one of the University of Missouri’s prize basketball recruits for next season, will not be graduating with his high school class this weekend.
WFAA-TV (Dallas/Fort Worth) broadcast the report and also posted the video and story on its website.
Dave Reiter, associate director of media relations in the Missouri athletic department, refused to comment on the report Wednesday.
Mitchell, considered one of the top high school forwards in the country, transferred to the Dallas Independent School District’s Pinkston High School last summer from the Center of Life Academy in Miami. He was a star basketball player for both schools.
A dispute, according to the report, has arisen regarding Mitchell’s transferred credits and make-up exams that he took last fall before enrolling at Pinkston.
Mitchell’s mother, when contacted by the television station, said that problems have been resolved and her son will graduate as planned.
