JEFFERSON CITY — About 20 percent of Missourians who are due for a state income tax refund are still waiting for their money.
State Budget Director Linda Luebbering said Thursday that individual income tax refunds are running a little behind because of Missouri's cash-flow concerns.
She saidMissouri has received about 1.7 million requests for tax refunds and so far has paid about 1.4 million of those. Luebbering saidshe expects the roughly 300,000 remaining refunds to be paid by the end of June.

My name is Dorothy Banks and I'm concerned that Missouri recognizes the state has a cashflow problem but isn't at all concerned that the citizens of Missouri have a cashflow problem and need their tax refunds. Is it right that we have to wait two months or more to have money refunded to us with no interest paid.
I certainly need my refund and I'll bet others do also.
The better solution is to adjust one's tax withholding and not give the federal or state government a year-long interest-free loan. A little more money each month is better than a bigger chunk once a year.
