Man from Laquey goes missing after hospital stay in Columbia

Columbia Police are looking for Edward Acosta, who has disappeared after he was released from University Hospital on Friday night. Acosta told a friend he was spending the night at the VA Hospital, but he wasn't there the next morning when the friend went to pick him up.

COLUMBIA — Police are looking for Edward Acosta, a Hispanic male, who was released from University Hospital at 10 p.m. Friday and has gone missing.

Acosta is 46-years-old with brown eyes and black hair.  He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Acosta told an acquaintance he would spend the night at the VA Hospital and get a ride home to Laquey on Saturday.  When a friend arrived to take him home, he was not in the VA Hospital, and there was no record of him ever coming in.

Police and detectives are trying to find Acosta and ask that if anyone knows about his location to please contact them at 573-874-7652.
