PrintFriday's Missourian featured more cuts to education by Gov. Jay Nixon. The busing patronage sent to local districts offers a wonderful opportunity to make changes and force the free ice cream lovers to digest it. A crisis is a terrible thing to waste, or however the current politicians seem to be playing it out.
Dr. Chris Belcher, it is ludicrous to consider classroom teacher cuts, program cuts and constant requests for more money from the taxpayers, yet the district has buses pick up children at every corner of wonderful neighborhoods like I live in.
The parents often sit in their running autos for 30 to 40 minutes when their school is literally less than two miles away. They can drive their kids to school and spend some quality time with them to and from. You can use this supposed "crisis" to make changes to this one nonsensical area of the budget.
Real leaders are never popular with many folks — only the ones who recognize solutions.

I agree, there are way to many stops on a bus route. They could combine 3 to 4 stops into 1 stop easily.
