JEFFERSON CITY — Water tests from the Lake of the Ozarks show no high bacteria levels from any of the areas checked.

The Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday that it did not find high E. coli at any of the 51 sites tested. The water samples were taken Monday and are part of a five-year water quality monitoring program funded by utility Ameren Corp. Earlier this month, E. coli tests at other testing sites showed high bacteria at one sample.

Water samples this week were taken from the Gravois and Osage arms and are to be retested in August.

Last year, the DNR took about a month to release similar test results. That prompted a legislative investigation and changes to the handling of water quality testing data.
