Jefferson City bank robber appears to be man who robbed Columbia bank

Two banks robberies in the last week, one in Jefferson City and one in Columbia, may have been committed by the same individual. COLUMBIA—A man robbed the River Region Credit Union in Jefferson City at 3:34 p.m. on Wednesday, and police say he seems to be the same man who is the suspect in robbing Landmark Bank in Columbia on Friday.

In the Jefferson City robbing, the suspect showed a handgun and was wearing a cowboy hat.

The man who robbed Landmark Bank was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, overweight, wearing a tan straw hat, black short-sleeved T-shirt and blue jeans. He carried a handgun and left in what was described as a 1990s white four-door Cadillac.

Police describe the suspect or suspects as "armed and dangerous."
