COLUMBIA — A Boone County man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.
Brian Young, 28, was arrested after police found more than six pounds of marijuana, two pills of Ecstasy, more than two ounces of psilocybin mushrooms and more than $2,000 in cash, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
They also found scales and packaging material that Sgt. Britt Shea said were factors in the distribution charge.
The Sheriff's Department got a search warrant and conducted an investigation of 5873 Limoges Drive because of complaints about activity at the residence.
Shea also said the mushrooms were found on the floor in a bedroom where teenagers and an 18-month-old child had access to them, resulting in a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
