COLUMBIA — Susan Kohler failed to appear in court Friday.
Kohler was issued three summonses after Boone County Animal Control removed 32 cats — 28 living and four dead — from her room at Motel 6 on 3402 I-70 Drive S.E. on June 16.

The summonses issued were for having too many cats, animal abuse related to the conditions the cats were living in and no vaccinations, according to Gerald Worley, environmental health manager of Boone County Animal Control.
The court will issue Kohler a summons through the mail asking her to appear at a second scheduled court date. Failure to appear on this day could result in a warrant for her arrest.
