Ruling on Vanderveen Crossing in-home preschool lawsuit postponed until July 9

Judge Jodie Asel postponed the conclusion of a lawsuit against Heather Linneman until July 9. Linneman is being sued by the Vanderveen Crossing Homeowner's Association for running a preschool out of her home. She was first contacted in 2004 by the homeowner's association and fulfilled requests to solve the complaints and says the thought of closing her preschool makes her sick to her stomach.

Fireworks complaints increase 911 calls before Fourth of July

Columbia residents should avoid calling 911 for fireworks complaints and instead call the city's non-emergency telephone number. If someone is injured while using fireworks, even while illegally within the city limits, residents should call 911.
