The University of Missouri finished 49th in the 2009-2010 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup rankings– an award presented to the top collegiate athletic programs around the country every year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, Learfield Sports and USA Today.
The Division 1 standings are calculated by the NACDA every year by taking the top 10 men’s and women’s sports at a particular University and ranking them on a point system. Points are giving to each team depending on how they are ranked nationally for their given sport and division.
The Missouri softball team led the way for Missouri in the rankings by reaching the 2010 Women’s College World Series, adding 73 points to the University's overall point total.
