COLUMBIA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested a man in connection to a recent drive-by shooting in Columbia.
Marquez Lanelle Lawhorn, 31, was arrested Tuesday morning in the Kansas City area in connection to the shots fired on July 1 near Sanford Avenue and Ash Street in Columbia.
Lawhorn was arrested at 7:30 a.m. by the FBI Fugitive Task Force after Columbia Police Department detectives found out he was in the Kansas City area, Columbia police spokeswoman Jill Wieneke said.
The Columbia Police Department previously said they suspected that the July 1 shooting was related to a series of other drive-by shootings in Columbia, but Wieneke said authorities have connected Lawhorn to only the one incident so far.
Wieneke said the department is still looking for other suspects, but is not releasing names right now.
Lawhorn was being held in the Wyandotte County, Kan., jail for first degree assault with a bond set at $250,000.
Columbia Police Department detectives will interview him today in Kansas City, Kansas.
