Volunteers installed 12 solar panels to the Neely home west of Ashland. They were able to learn how solar energy works and assists in saving the environment for future generations.
¦ Michael Burden
Ashland — Volunteers eager to learn about solar energy came from as far away as Memphis, Tenn., to lend a hand in a solar raising, an event sponsored by the nonprofit solar advocacy group, Show Me Solar.
They shared knowledge, talked politics and enjoyed a vegetarian lunch with fresh produce from Ron and Irene Neely’s garden Saturday. The Neelys added 2.4 kilowatts of capacity to their current solar array.
