COLUMBIA — The City Council expects to swear in its new Water and Light director, Tad Johnsen, during its meeting on Monday, City Manager Bill Watkins said during his biweekly news conference.
Johnsen has worked in the department since 1994, according to a previous Missourian report. One of his goals is to coordinate the city's response in addressing energy efficiency.
Here are items the council plans to hold public hearings on:
- Approving artist Stuart Keeler's design for the Percent for Art Project at the Fifth and Walnut parking garage.
- Construction of street and storm sewer improvements along Stadium Boulevard between Broadway to Interstate 70.
- Two annexation proposals on Richland Road, one along both sides of Rolling Hills Road and one east of where St. Charles and Richland roads intersect. The two proposals total 271 acres, and both were tabled at the March 1 City Council meeting.
The City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall. The entire agenda can be seen on the city's website.
