The Hearnes Center is filled with activity as 493 wrestlers participate in the Show-Me State Games wrestling competition on Saturday. This year’s turnout was the largest yet. Eight matches were held simultaneously on the arena floor from 10 a.m. until about 7 p.m. for some age groups.

The Show-Me State Games held its wrestling competition Saturday at the Hearnes Center. Almost 500 people participated in the event, which lasted from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tyler Loethen, 17, of Helias High School in Jefferson City grips Michael Rodgers, 17, of St. Clair High School in St. Clair at the Show-Me State Games wrestling competition Saturday at the Hearnes Center. Loethen, who won the match, said of wrestling at the Show-Me State Games, “I love the sport. It’s always a good tournament. I love the competition.”
