COLUMBIA — Four youths under the age of 10 were taken into custody Sunday night in connection to a break-in at Cedar Ridge Elementary School, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Department news release.
At about 7 p.m., Boone County sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress at the school at 1100 S. Roseta Ave. Deputies discovered the youths inside a trailer classroom, vandalizing it, according to the release.
The four were taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree burglary and second-degree property damage. They were later released into the custody of their parents, according to Sgt. Mike Krohn of the Sheriff's Department.
