If elected, Becker, a Republican, said he would like to create a program offering incentives to retired business owners, who act as mentors to businesses in financial trouble.
"Every time a business fails, that's a lot of money going down the drain," Becker said. "If they had some help, maybe they could be in the black instead of red, black, red, black."
Top issues:
- Opposing higher taxes on businesses
- Creating a plan to increase the number of successful businesses
- Raising the moral and ethical standards for government officials to restore public trust
Why he’s running for office: “Nobody was sticking up for the businesses," Becker said. "There’s gotta be a better way than just slamming the businesses every time we needed money for this or that. Nobody was championing for the businesses, and we need cooperation to succeed.”
