Deborah Solomon is a self-starter. As a single mom with two kids, she needed a job that would allow her to stay at home with her children while providing for her family.
So Solomon decided to employ herself. She started working with certified public accountants and accounting firms and was soon marketing from her home.

“I worked around my kids’ nap hours,” she said.
Even though her business took up a majority of her time, she became involved in several other endeavors, including substitute teaching in the Kansas City metropolitan area and earning a master's degree.
Her interest in politics began when her kids were still young.
“I was concerned about several issues and decided to become involved,” she said, remembering when she and her kids would spend afternoons putting up yard signs for candidates. “My involvement was something that just developed,” she said. “I studied political strategy and had discussions about why we hadn’t seen the positive change we needed to see.”
Her main priorities are balancing education and moral stability; balancing the budget and ensuring fair wages; promoting religious freedom throughout the world; promoting access to birth control, vasectomies and tubal ligations to married couples throughout the world; and maintaining a strong military.
"The theme of my campaign is changing the tide for the next generation so the next generation, with God’s help, will not have to make the same mistakes our generation has made.”
