Ally Sucher, 14, completes her floor routine at the Show-Me State Games gymnastic competition on Saturday. Sucher is a retired gymnast. "After a certain age, usually 14 or 15, your body starts to deteriorate and that's when gymnasts usually retire," said coach and fellow teammate Kristin Rugen. Retired gymnasts from the South County Twisters decided to participate in the Show-Me State Games recreationally and to promote the team atmosphere to their pupils.

Ally Sucher, 14, participated in the beam portion of the gymnastic competition at the Show-Me State Games on Saturday. The South County Twisters are primarily made up of retired gymnasts who chose to participate in the Show-Me State Games recreationally. In the team competition, different members of the team were allowed to participate in different events based on what portion they liked or excelled at.

Becca Avena, 18, and Nikki Werner, 17, warm up for their floor routine on Saturday at the Show-Me State Games gymnastics competition. Avena and Werner are both retired gymnasts who now coach for the South County Twisters. The Twister's team was primarily made up of coaches for this meet. "We love the sport and this is a really fun meet," said fellow coach Kristin Rugen.
