COLUMBIA – Eleven members of the Missouri track and field program earned US Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors.
Four men and seven women – led by Shannon Leinert’s perfect 4.00 grade point average – received the honors. Leinert was one of only 28 women nationally to have a 4.00 GPA. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event. In all, 551 women nationally earned All-Academic status, which is a USTFCCCA record, while 357 men were dubbed All-Academic. Missouri All-Academic recipients are Leinert, Katie Evans, Leslie Farmer, Laura Greenfield, Angela Potrykus, Ellen Ries, Kaitie Vanatta, Nick Adcock, Tim Cornell, Phillip King, and Asa Wyatt.
