Rep. Luetkemeyer's daughter-in-law killed in car accident

COLUMBIA — A 27-year-old woman related to Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo., died Friday afternoon following a car accident near Meta.

Amy Berhorst Luetkemeyer, Blaine Luetkemeyer's daughter-in-law, was traveling north along Missouri 133 when her Mazda 6 crossed the center line, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report.

Her vehicle then sideswiped another car traveling south. She went off the road and overcorrected. Her car was then hit in the side by a Dodge Ram also headed south.

The accident happened two miles south of Meta, a small town near the edge of Osage County.

Luetkemeyer spokesman Paul Sloca said Amy married Trevor Luetkemeyer in October 2009. She was originally from Westphalia.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Berhorst family," Sloca said.
