PrintCOLUMBIA — Two marijuana legislation reform activists traveled from California to warn Columbia residents and the Citizens Police Review Board against the dangers of becoming a police state. Ed Rosenthal and Angela Bacca were the first to file an appeal with the board. They did so in early June after viewing a YouTube video of the Feb. 11 SWAT. In this raid, Columbia Police Department officers shot and killed a pit bull and shot another family dog. A child was also present during the raid. A small amount of marijuana was found in the house. At past meetings, some review board members argued the board should not hear Rosenthal and Bacca's appeal since they have no ties to the area or to anyone involved in the raid.

They should not be hearing this since the guy from California has NO STAKE in the case itself besides publicity.
Then they'll have to rewrite that ordinance since they didn't put any restrictions on who can file an appeal to the review board. Until then, I say tough luck to the review board, time to do your job.
