COLUMBIA — Police have arrested a second man they think is connected to a July 19 robbery in northeast Columbia.
On Thursday, Columbia Police Department officers arrested Terrell Barrett, 19, at the home of a friend on suspicion of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, according a news release.
Police said Barrett, along with Kirk Jones, 28, approached a 45-year-old woman outside her friend's apartment at 2939 Leeway Drive. Barrett threatened the woman with a handgun and demanded her purse, the department said in a release.
Jones was arrested July 21 and charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance. Police said Jones had crack cocaine when he was arrested.
Barrett also had an outstanding warrant for second-degree property damage. He has previously been convicted for misdemeanor marijuana possession, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor credit card fraud.
Barrett is currently being held in the Boone County Jail. Bond is set at $100,500. Jones is also being held, with bond set at $104,500.
