Pick and Pick Farms offers place to harvest fruits, vegetables

COLUMBIA — Pick and Pick Farm offers sun-ripened blackberries as a welcome back to Columbia.

Whether you are homesick for Grandma’s backyard patch or have never picked fresh berries, a trip to pick blackberries can be a relaxing return to Boone County. The farm’s owners, Sam and Helen Pickering, maintain the farm on South Rangeline Road.

What's in season

April: Asparagus

May/June: Strawberries

July/August: Blackberries

August, until frost: Red raspberries

October: Pumpkins

It is one of several pick-your-own farms in the area. Throughout the year, you may pick whatever variety of fruit and vegetable is in season.
