KANSAS CITY — Kansas City police found a headless skeleton in woods near where a man found a human skull.
Police began searching the area in eastern Kansas City after the man reported finding the skull on Saturday. On Monday morning, police announced the skeleton had been discovered in thick woods about 50 yards from where the skull was found.
The Kansas City Star reports that police believe an animal or animals dragged the skull away from the bones.
Currently, the case is considered a death investigation because police say they have found no evidence of foul play.
