JEFFERSON CITY — The wife of former Republican Sen. Jim Talent is going to work for a free-market think tank group in Missouri.
The Show-Me Institute says it has hired Brenda Talent as its executive director. The St. Louis-based research organization promotes public policies that advance free-market principles.
Brenda Talent says she is joining the group to help promote smaller government, lower taxes and individual liberties.
She currently is an attorney with the Bryan Cave law firm in St. Louis. She previously served on the Parkway School Board and as a captain in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps.
Jim Talent served four years in the U.S. Senate after winning election in 2002. He had previously served in the U.S. House and the Missouri legislature.
