INDEPENDENCE — A Kansas City Police Department jailer has been charged with running a prostitution ring out of his home.
Police arrested 23-year-old Jacques Baker and 28-year-old Samantha Thongkham Tuesday evening at their home in Independence. Baker has been a detention officer with the department for two years.
Police say a woman arrested in a July prostitution ring told investigators she once worked for Baker and Thongkham.
A Jackson County jail employee said Thursday the two were no longer there but gave no other other details. Court records did not indicate whether they had attorneys.
