Services scheduled for Missouri soldier killed in Afghanistan

DE SOTO — Funeral services will be held next week for a soldier from eastern Missouri who was killed in Afghanistan.
Army Staff Sgt. James Ide of De Soto was one of seven U.S. troops killed in weekend attacks. He died of wounds sustained in an insurgent attack at Hyderabad, Afghanistan.

Ide was 32 and was a canine handler. He served in Korea and two tours in Iraq before serving in Afghanistan.
KSDK-TV reports visitation will be held the evening of Sept. 10 at De Soto High School. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Sept. 11, also at the school.
