PrintCOLUMBIA — The Missouri Arts Council granted $458,282 to various Columbia organizations, including $32,644 to the city's Commission on Cultural Affairs.
Although city officials expected a smaller grant, they actually got more than in the previous round. Columbia also received the largest grant of any city in the state.
The grants will be given in the same amounts over each of the next three years. Organizations that won grants were:
- Access Arts, School of Service: $19,897.
- City of Columbia (Career Awareness Related Experience program): $6,960.
- Columbia Public Schools: $5,641.
- Columbia Chorale: $10,042.
- Columbia Civic Orchestra: $7,375.
- Columbia Entertainment Company: $6,141.
- First Night Columbia: $17,673.
- Maplewood Barn Association: $11,873.
- Missouri Artisans Association: $6,000.
- Missouri Contemporary Ballet: $21,267.
- Missouri Symphony Society: $28,881.
- MU, Folk Arts Program: $102,000.
- MU, Missouri Review: $20,375.
- MU, Concert Series: $24,755.
- MU, Museum of Art and Archaeology: $21,158.
- Performing Arts in Children's Education: $14,710.
- Ragtag Programming for Film and Media Art: $22,384.
- State Historical Society of Missouri, Unicorn Stencil Documentary Films: $14,042.
- Stephens College: $17,699.
- Theater Reaching Young People and Schools: $21,438.
- "We Always Swing" Jazz Series: $25,327.
