Burton recommends downtown camera placement
Friday, September 17, 2010 | 12:07 p.m. CDT
COLUMBIA — Columbia Police Chief Ken Burton submitted the Downtown Safety Summit's recommendations on downtown camera placement to the Columbia City Council.
Burton has proposed cameras at four locations:
- Hitt Street and Broadway
- Tenth Street and Broadway
- Tenth Street and Cherry Street
- Ninth Street and Cherry Street
Camera models are still to be decided, so the fiscal impact has not been determined yet. The council will consider Burton's report, as well as funding allocation, at its next meeting Monday night.

Wouldn't Alley A, or the alley by the Blue Note make more sense than 10th and Broadway??
