“Today” show viewers are voting on one of these destinations for a local couple’s honeymoon.
Turn on the "Today" show on NBC on Thursday morning to watch the wedding. A "Today" show representative said the wedding was expected to begin around 7 a.m. CDT.
- Melissa McMillin and Jeremy Gebhardt of Columbia are the winning couple for the “Today” show wedding contest. Each week, viewers vote on different aspects of the wedding, including rings, reception location and wedding dress. Click the timeline below to see what has already been chosen and what’s in store for the couple before their big day.
Melissa McMillin, 21, and Jeremy Gebhardt, 22, will marry Thursday at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City live on the “Today” show. The couple won the show’s annual wedding contest five weeks ago. Since the win, “Today” show viewers have selected a different aspect of the wedding every week.
The honeymoon destination will be announced Thursday; the winning cake was announced this morning.
The “Classic Romance” cake, created by Connecticut-based designer Ana Parzych Custom Cakes, features four flavors, four tiers and handmade sugar flowers. It also incorporates the Air Force emblem in honor of Gebhardt’s service — he returned from a deployment with the U.S. Air Force two weeks ago.
