- Shemekia Copeland takes the MPIX stage at the 2010 Roots 'N' Blues 'N' BBQ on Friday, Oct. 1. Copeland and her band were the first to perform at the MPIX stage during the festival.

Just had time enough Friday night to grab a quick bite on 9th street and wanted to cut across a ticket access only area to shorten our walk to the Flat Branch stage to catch the last 45 minutes of the night's music.
Special kudos to Richard King for personally escorting us across the street.
