Facebook officials released a new set of features on the website Wednesday in an effort to help users further protect their privacy.
One of the new features, called Groups, allows users to create groups for their different friend circles and share information exclusively within that group.
According to the New York Times, the company hopes this will encourage users to upload more photos and other information to the site and that it will make users feel more secure about who can see what they are posting.
Facebook also added a feature that will allow users to download all of the information they have posted on the site in a single file.
Another feature is designed to allow users to see how third-party applications get their personal data.
What do you think about the new Facebook features?

Honestly I think users need to learn that anything you post on the internet is public, its as simple as that. Even with grouping and providing more control to Facebook users regarding how their information is published, there is still a possiblity that this information can be accessed, reposted by a friend, etc. I think everyone needs to take some personal responsibility regarding what they publish on the interwebs. On the topic of social media, we recently published a piece regarding the shooting at University of Texas and how social media allowed students to communicate danger faster than ever before, potentially saving lives.
