The choice between someone who has, and will, continue to support special interests groups and someone who will represent the average people of Missouri could not be more clear. Congressman Roy Blunt has been in Washington for 14 years supporting special interests groups, and being rewarded by those same groups with large sums of campaign contributions.
Robin Carnahan, however, has been living, working and serving right here in Missouri.
As a retired person, one thing that scares me about Roy Blunt is his support for privatizing Social Security. Like many politicians, he can't be pinned down on his position while an election is going on, but he supported the idea in the past, and I have no doubt he still supports it. If you currently receive Social Security, you might want to consider what would have happened when the stock market crashed in 2008, if your funds had been invested in stocks. Only Wall Street will make money on a privatized Social Security system, and no one is more supportive of Wall Street than Roy Blunt.
We need representatives in Washington who will stand up for Missourians, and that is exactly what Robin Carnahan will do. Robin Carnahan is focused on making life better for the citizens of Missouri, and if we send her to Washington, we will have a senator who is beholding to no one other than the voters of Missouri.

What is Ray Shapiro's opinion on this subject...the people of columbia await with anticipation......
Is this the same Robin Carnahan that invited third party candidates to the Senate debates, then reneged on that promise?

As for Social Security, younger people would be well-served by eliminating it and investing privately (yes the stock market went down, yes it came back as well), while finding a method to keep Social Security for people over a certain age. Roughly $100/month in a Roth IRA from age 21 to age 64 results in over half a million tax free dollars for retirement, see my previous letter to the editor for the full calculations:

Yes John.
This is the same Robin Carnahan that not only knows bull, but can dish it out with the best of them.
It just seems to me that it's time for the Dems to realize that Independent Conservatives want Chicagoland political infiltration of Missouri to just go away.
This year, I have to say no to the Carnahan-Obama connection.
Heck, I don't even like Ike anymore.
They've all sold out to lefty progressive factions.
If they want my vote, let them start advocating for smaller government.
Close down the Federal Department of Education. Close down the Federal Department of Commerce. Close down the Federal Department of Energy.
Let's see smart, conservative Democrats come up with a plan for a more efficiently run administration. Otherwise, make way for a few smart upcomers from another party or give a retread another chance.

Thank you, Ray Shapiro, for convincing me to vote for Robin Carnahan. You have utterly convinced. thanks
Ray, are you a right winger, Tea Partiest?
John Mancini asks:
"Ray, are you a right winger, Tea Partiest?"
Ray Shapiro answers:
Some of my best friends are Dems.
Some of my best friends are not Dems.
I've never voted for a President other than the ones offered to us by the Democrats.
This is the very first year that I believe the Democrats failed my expectations.
I guess you could call me a disgruntled Democrat.
Ray, please vote for Obama in 2012. He will get it right this time.
I also encourage Ray Shapiro and everyone else on here to vote for Robin Carnahan. Roy blunt is a fake.
Obama will get it right in 2012? He can't get much more wrong I suppose.
@James Browning:
It's the President's arrogance and Chicagoland strategies which have made me look elsewhere for inspiration and leadership from candidates not affiliated with his inner-circle. I view the Carnahan brother and sister act to be part of that inner-circle and unjustifiable tactics.

Obama has gotten so much done in 20 months..and is a very impressive list....if you're open-minded enough to review.
Check out the footage of accomplishments from the Rachel Maddow show last night........be brave....
