COLUMBIA — The Hickman and Rock Bridge football teams both begin district play with home games Friday night.
Hickman (5-2) hosts Fort Zumwalt West (5-2) at 7 p.m. in its Class 6, District 6 opener. The Kewpies are coming off an impressive 60-21 victory at Gateway, while Fort Zumwalt West has racked up 109 points in consecutive victories over Timberland and Francis Howell Central in the past two weeks.

- at Jefferson City (4-3), 7 p.m. Oct. 29
Rock Bridge (3-4) - District 7
- vs. Liberty (3-4), 7 p.m. Friday
- at Blue Springs South (5-2), 7 p.m. Oct. 22
- at No. 4 Blue Springs (5-2), 7 p.m. Oct. 29
Rock Bridge (3-4) will try to snap a three-game losing streak when it plays Liberty (3-4) in a Class 6, District 7 contest that will be its final home appearance of 2010. Liberty broke its own four-game skid with a 27-14 win last week against St. Joseph-Central.
The Missouri State High School Activities Association determines which teams make the playoffs based solely upon district results. There are eight four-team districts in Class 6, with the top two schools from each district earning a playoff berth after a round of three games.
