COLUMBIA — The Stephens College women's volleyball team lost to Missouri Baptist 25-18, 28-26, 25-19 on Thursday at Silverthorne Arena to fall to 10-15.
The Stars had a chance to win the second game, serving for game point at 24-22, but couldn't hold on to the lead.
"It was disappointing to not win that set, because I think we could have," head coach Shane McAfee said. "But it's hard to be disappointed, because (Missouri Baptist) is very good."
But the team has already reached the 10-win mark, surpassing last year's win total of seven with more than three weeks still left in the season. McAfee said that the Stars' goal is to improve their ranking in the American Midwest Conference tournament, and potentially win a tournament game.
The win moved the Spartans to third in the AMC at 8-3 and 13-12 overall. The Stars fell to 10-15 overall and 2-8 in the AMC.
