I will vote for J. Scott Christianson on November 2. He's a good neighbor I've known for 20 years. Numerous conversations through the years have convinced me that he has keen analytical powers, evident when he speaks or writes. Judicious reasoning infuses his views and positions.
As his comments in recent debates have demonstrated, he has thought long and hard about the issues that will confront the next presiding commissioner. He is experienced in seeking community good in civic, political, university and business worlds.
His opponent, Ed Robb, speaks of arguably unnecessary financial and procedural reform, the standard Republican mantras during this political season. "Nattering nabob of negativity" is the phrase that comes to mind.
Please join me in voting for Christianson on Nov. 2.
Don Sievert lives in Columbia.
