COLUMBIA — A Columbia woman was arrested Monday night after she assaulted a 41-year-old man with a ceremonial sword, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Satina Tenille Beckner, 29, became violent after a verbal disagreement escalated at 5329 Trikalla Drive around 9 p.m. Monday, Boone County Detective Tom O'Sullivan said.
Beckner grabbed the sword off of the wall and began waving it at the man in a threatening manner, and the man then ran to a neighbor's house around the corner to call the police, O'Sullivan said.
The victim refused medical attention for a small laceration in his abdominal area.
There were two other adults in the house who witnessed the event, O'Sullivan said, along with Beckner's four children.
Deputies arrested Beckner after questioning both witnesses and neighbors.
Beckner's bail was set at $34,500 on charges of second-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

Maybe we should vote on a proposition to ban ceremonial swords. They're dangerous, you know.
