The Hickman football team hosts Troy-Buchanan at 7 p.m. Friday in the second of its three District 6 games. The Kewpies (5-3) are looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 36-35 loss at the hands of Fort Zumwalt West in their district opener while the Trojans (0-8) enter the game searching for their first victory of the season after a 62-0 loss against Jefferson City last week.
The Rock Bridge football team continues District 7 play at 7 p.m. Friday at Blue Springs South. Rock Bridge (4-4) blew a 21-0 lead last week against Liberty after losing quarterback Mark Pickerel late in the first half. But backup Bo Bell was able to rally the Bruins to a 24-21 overtime victory. Pickerel is expected to start for Rock Bridge in what amounts to an elimination game for the Jaguars (5-3) after their loss to rival Blue Springs last week.
